Rovers axe Moore
Story courtesy of Burton Mail
Keeper Tony Moore is axed from Gresley Rovers’ West Midlands League side to meet Halesowen Harriers at the Moat Ground tomorrow (3pm).
Manager Frank Northwood said: “I’m disappointed for Tony, but he didn’t look himself at Chasetown last week. His confidence has dipped since Bob Aston left us. He’s finding it tough as first choice.”

Moore’s shirt goes to 22-year-old Simon Harrison with Northwood saying: “I’ve got a lot of confidence in him.”

Another midweek win for Chasetown has increased the pressure on Rovers at the top of the table but Northwood said: “We’ll pull through – and I still feel we’ve got three trophies to win. It means we’ve got to go out and win every match but I feel we’ve got the side to start doing that tomorrow.”

With full back Frank Nuttall sacked, Martin Dick is recalled from loan at Stapenhill to rejoin a 14-man squad. Defender Jason Minton is unfit.
