Gresley Rovers ensured that they will be top of the West Midlands League for Christmas by bringing Willenhall Town�s long unbeaten run to an abrupt halt at the Moat Ground on Saturday.
Two goals from Brian Beresford after Carl Rathbone�s seventh-minute opener gave Gresley a comfortable victory to bolster a four-point lead at the top of the table.That gave manager Frank Northwood a suitably seasonal smile afterwards as he said: �We played quite well and stuck our chances away when they came, then defended very well against the wind second half.�
