Gresley Rovers’ top scorer Paul Acklam faces a fitness test before claiming his place for tonight’s West Midlands League clash against Chasetown at the Moat Ground (7.30pm).
The 14-goal striker has a groin strain and may have to miss out on the two sides’ fourth meeting of the season – the third at the Moat Ground. The sides drew 2-2 at Chasetown in a league cup tie and 1-1 in the first replay before a Brian Beresford goal finally put Gresley through into the second round at the expense of the holders.
Manager Frank Northwood said last night: “We’re getting used to playing Chasetown and they’re getting used to playing us. But if we can play as well as we did in the cup tie we’ll be looking for three points.”
Striker Carl Rathbone returns to a 15-man squad.
