Gresley Rovers entertain in-form Chasetown tonight with manager Frank Northwood vowing to take their cup from them.
Chasetown come to the Moat Ground (7.30pm) as undisputed West Midlands cup kings, having won the trophy – previously held by Rovers – for two seasons running.

Last term they shocked Gresley by winning 2-1 at the Moat Ground in the second leg of the semi-final before going on to lift the trophy.

But Northwood reckons Rovers have already gone half way towards avenging the upturn by drawing 2-2 at The Scholars on September 10th.

“It’s going to be tight tonight – they’ve proved themselves to be a very good cup side,” said the Rovers boss today.

“But I still feel we should have won at their place. We played very well and if we can play that well again we should win tonight. They have won the league cup twice on the trot but would like to think that Gresley are the team to take it off them.

“We had four chances in the first half on Saturday and stuck three of them away. I’ll be looking for the boys to go out and play like that again tonight.”

Rovers have no injury problems after Saturday’s 7-1 cakewalk at West Bromwich Town and Northwood anticipates naming an unchanged side.
