Frank turns the Page

Defender Dean Page stands by for his first appearance of the season as Gresley Rovers travel to Chasetown for a West Midlands League Cup first round tie tonight (7.30pm).
Manager Frank Northwood last night gave the strongest hint yet he is set to ring the changes in a side that has leaked six goals in just four games so far this term.“Page will definitely be in the 13 and will probably make the starting line-up,” he said.
“I don’t like goals going in and it concerns me that we have conceded two a game in our last three matches.”
A place in the second round of the league cup rather than three points is what is at stake tonight, however, with Northwood conceding: “We’re playing the holders of the trophy and it could be a very difficult game. Having said that, we should have beaten them easily in last season’s semi-final and they ended up pipping us by the odd goal.”
There is no place in the 15-man squad for defender Scott Elliott, who will be out of action for up to six weeks after picking up an ankle injury in Saturday’s 3-2 win at Rocester.
