Same old story as Moatmen are sunk

It was a case of "here we go again" for Gresley Rovers boss John McGinlay as he saw his side comprehensively defeated for the second consecutive game on Saturday.
Rovers were beaten 3-0 by Dr Martens Western Division leaders Hinckley United at Middlefield Lane with McGinlay confessing: "It could have been seven."The Moat chief issued another lecture to his team and ordered the entire side to turn out in Wednesday's Moat Ground reserve fixture against Hinckley's second string.
But it was obvious from Saturday's display that the Moatmen need either inspiration, new blood or both to be able to compete with the Dr martens Western Division's top sides.
McGinlay admitted as much when he confessed: "A few weeks ago we looked a couple of players short of a good side but that number has gone up since then."
Once Rovers had fallen behind to a Dave Sadler penalty conceded by new boy Barry Woolley, thing went from bad to worse with McGinlay confessing: "Heads went down."
Said the Moat boss: "It's pretty hard to find something to say after that. We had a good week training and came here hopeful of getting something. For a while we looked as if we would. We were going quite well until the penalty and that knocked a bit of heart out of the lads. Then we fell for a sucker punch just after half time and we weren't in the game after that. It was a good 3-0 defeat and could have been 7-0. Richard Selby has made a couple of good saves and kept the score line respectable. We'll have to get some more players in: it was embarrassing today."
