Rovers owe a debt of honour
Story courtesy of Glenn Brookes - Burton Mail
Gresley Rovers boss John McGinlay has said a number of his players "owe him one" after last Saturday's 2-0 defeat at home to Solihull Borough.
And the Moat boss his hoping his side can spring a surprise tomorrow (Sat) when they travel to league leaders Hinckley United.

Said McGinlay: "Hinckley are top of the table for a good reason - they are a very good side. I know their manager Dean Thomas, and actually had a good chat with him when I met him at a game."

McGinlay knows his side must knuckle down if they are going to get any kind of result at Middlefield Lane, but is confident Rovers are capable of causing an upset.
And McGinlay wants his players to put last week's poor performance behind them and go out and prove what they are capable of.

"We have certainly got to improve on last week to get anything out of the game," said the Moat boss. "We had a good chat about it and we have got everything to prove- a few players owe us one. There will be no chance the players will go there in a relaxed mood just because they are playing the league leaders away - I will not let that happen. However, having said that, the pressure will be on the opposition because they are top of the league and are at home - they will be expecting to beat us. There is no reason why we can't get a result if we apply ourselves and we may catch them on an off day."

Richard Selby looks likely to be in goal for the Moatmen tomorrow after declaring himself fit following recovering from an eye injury, although he did suffer a slight recurrence of his shoulder problem last week.

Simon Baldwin, on a month's loan to Notts County, will not be recalled, with McGinlay saying: "It is unfair to keep bringing Simon back from his loan spell."

Defender Matt Warren will make his comeback from a hamstring injury, while Neil Broadhurst will play for the reserves as he continues his recovery from a groin problem.

New striker Ravi Sangha is set to make his debut with top scorer Simon Tucker unavailable because of a family bereavement.
