Comfortable Win For Gresley
This was arguably the most comfortable of Gresley's pre-season games so far with goalkeeper Tom Gutteridge not having a shot to save during the whole game.
Manager Gary Norton made numerous changes to the side beaten at Newhall two days previous bringing into the starting line-up Matt Roome, Marc Stryzweski, Michael Nottingham, Jordi Gough, Lavel White, James Jepson, Royce Turville, Dean Oliver and Kyle Bryant with Marc Goodfellow, Mickey Lyons, Luke Garton, Adam Betteridge and Rob Spencer on the bench.
Gresley went close early on when Bryant's cross from the left was headed just wide of the far post by Turville.
On 16 minutes the visitors took the lead when Oliver turned Lee Attenborough superbly in the area only to be pulled back giving referee Geoff Law no option but to point to the spot. Turville made no mistake send Shepshed Dynamo's keeper Tom Allen the wrong way.
The closest the home side can to levelling in the first half came two minutes later. A great through ball by Pele Orton sent Nick Pollard down the right and was unlucky to see his shot fly across the face of Gutteridge's goal.
Turville was unfortunate not to have doubled his side's and his own score when Jepson's cross was lobbed by the striker over Allen but the bar came to Shepshed's rescue. Jamie Barrett then went close firing his shot into the side netting.
The second half was similar to the first but with the customary changes of personnel.
Gresley's second goal came on 53 minutes when Stryzewsk stabbed the ball home from close in. Turville again went close flicking on a header at the near post that Allen did well to push over the bar. Allen made another fine save this time pushing Turville's low shot wide of the upright for a corner.
Allen was by far the busier of the two keepers with the home keeper denying substitute Richard Hanslow's blocking his stinging shot at the near post.
Three Gresley substitutes conspired to make goal number three. Adam Betteridge passed to Lyons who in turn laid the ball on to Goodfellow who's low shot was unstoppable.
Two minutes later Goodfellow added the fourth. A cross into the box caused chaos with Dynamo not able to clear the ball and Gresley having three shot blocked on the line before Goodfellow was able to smash the ball home from close in.
