Newhall United vs Gresley Rovers

Rovers X1 lose to Newhall United

Playing
on the notorious sloping pitch and in sweltering conditions a Rovers side made
up of mainly reserves and youth players lost to near neighbours Newhall United.

The match kicked off the 75th anniversary Newhall United are celebrating this
season in which a series of fund raising events will, hopefully, be used to
improve the ground at the end of the new campaign.

In
front of a crowd of more than 200, both keepers were in fine form. The Blues'
Brad Clarke and Rovers' Ian Roberts bringing off some very fine saves before
Neil Kitching opened the scoring tapping in a cross from Paul Grant on 58 minutes.

The Blues took less than a minute to pull level after Paul Ratcliffe provided
the cross, which Matt Lee scored with ease.

Seven minutes later Lee Bradley gave the home side the victory when he converted
a flicked pass from Steve Bambrick.

Final Score:

Gresley Rovers XI 1 (0)
Newhall Utd 2 (0)
