Gresley Rovers vs Goole Town

Gresley Rovers 0 - 2 Goole Town

Northern Premier League leaders Goole Town made their first ever visit to the Moat Ground for a 2nd Qualifying Round.

Rovers: McNamara, Perry, T Thompson, Walshe, Skeemer, King, Attley, Tilley, Davies, Kemm, Storer. Sub: Staley.

Town: Blackburn, Holmes, Rogers, Overton, Jackson, Shutt, I Thompson, Pugh, Hanson, Hamilton, Black. Sub: Woodhall.

We got off to a good start with player-manager Roger Davies and Greg Storer setting up a dangerous attack that ended when Tony Parry miss hit a good chance. Kemm had a ninth minute shot blocked by a defender as we continued our enterprising start.

Howver, Goole snatched the lead when a cross from Ian Thompson was turned in from close range by Hamilton. Town got a second goal in the second half to clinch victory.
