David Clarke is the Supporters' Choice
21st June 2008 Goalkeeper David Clarke came top of the Supporters vote and also won the Sports Writers Award at Friday's Presentation Evening at the Royal Hotel, Ashby de-la-Zouch. David Blenkinsopp, who was away on holiday, scooped the most coveted award that of his peers as he took the players' player award and the top scorer award. He also won the Burton Mail 'Man-of-the-Match' award jointly with Jamie Hood both notching 6 top ratings for games during the season. The awards were as follows:-  Management Player of the Season - Dan Douglas (presented by Gary Norton & collected by Janet & Paul Douglas)  Players' Player of the Season - David Blenkinsopp (presented by Gary Norton and collected by Tom Groves)  Supporters' Player of the Season - David Clarke (presented by Mike Freeman)  Club Top Scorer of the Season - David Blenkinsopp (presented by Gary Norton and collected by Jamie Hood)  Burton Mail 'Man of the Match' Awards - Jamie Hood & David Blenkinsopp (presented by David Rider - David Blenkinsopp's award collected by Gavin Saunders)  Sports Writers Award - David Clarke (presented by David Rider)  Reserve Team Manager's Player of the Season - Tom Astle (presented by David Fleary)  Reserve Team Players' Player of the Season - Tom Astle (presented by David Fleary)  Reserve Team Secretary's Award - Martyn Rowntree (presented by Reg Shorthouse and collected by Tony Hemmings)  Youth Team Manager's Player of the Season - Richard Foster (presented by Steve Gee)  Youth Team Players' Player of the Season - Paul Morton (presented by Steve Gee)
